People and Community
Since 1999, Guardian Pharmacies have been warming the hearts of people in need through the Guardian Angel Knitting Program. The program fosters strong community involvement through encouraging Guardian customers to knit warm clothes, blankets, scarves and other garments which are then donated to Australians in need via The Salvation Army. This has been a highly successful program, with over 2 million garments knitted by Guardian Pharmacy customers over the last 12 years.
Guardian's focus on providing health solutions has seen it also assist:
- National Breast Cancer Foundation - support through the Pink Ribbon campaign
- School Bugs and Other Nasties Survival Guide – a free 60 page booklet that contains relevant and easy to read health information on school age infections and viruses. It is available exclusively from Guardian Pharmacies nationally in early 2011.
Amcal has continued to play an active role in supporting the fundraising efforts of charitable organisations, such as:
- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
- National Breast Cancer Foundation - support through the Pink Ribbon campaign
