People and Community

Since its launch in 1999, Guardian has supported World Vision through donations and in running the Guardian Angel program. The Guardian Angel program fosters stronger community involvement through encouraging Guardian customers to knit woollen garments in support of needy children in developing countries around the world. This has been a highly successful program, with over 1.4 million garments knitted by Guardian Pharmacy customers and distributed around the globe by World Vision.

Guardian's focus on providing health solutions has seen it also assist:

  • Heartkids Australia "Stick on a Smile" campaign, commenced in 2004. The sale of Smiling Heart Stickers in Guardian Pharmacies raises funds for research into children's heart disease;
  • National Breast Cancer Foundation - support through the Pink Ribbon campaign

Amcal has continued to play an active role in supporting the fundraising efforts of charitable organisations, such as:

  • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
  • National Breast Cancer Foundation - support through the Pink Ribbon campaign
