When was Sigma formed?
Sigma Pharmaceuticals, formerly Arrow Pharmaceuticals Limited was formed in 1999. It is the listed company in the group that includes Sigma Company Limited.
Sigma Company Limited was formed in Melbourne in 1912 as
a Co-operative owned by community based pharmacists.
What are Sigma's main areas of activity?
Sigma is an integrated healthcare company. Sigma is a manufacturer
of various branded and generic pharmaceutical and neutraceutical products. Sigma is
a full service wholesaler and distributor of products to pharmacies
within Australia. Sigma is also the owner of the two largest pharmacy
banner group's in Australia - Amcal and Guardian.
How many employees does Sigma have?
Sigma employs approximately 1,800 employees in all areas of the
business throughout Australia.
How is the fiscal year defined?
Sigma has a year-end of 31 January. For example, the 2007-year for
Sigma will reflect the performance of the company from 1 February 2006
to 31 January 2007.

Where and when was the Sigma share first listed?
Arrow Pharmaceuticals Limited was listed on the ASX on 29 October 2002. Following the merger with Sigma Company Limited, it has changed its name to Sigma Pharmaceuticals Limited, and from December 2005 commenced trading under the ASX code "SIP".
Sigma Company Limited was listed on the exempt market in 1997, and moved to a full
listing on the ASX in November 1999. Sigma entered the ASX Top 100
in November 2003.
