Senior Management Team

James Barrie, Commercial Finance and Investor Relations Manager
James commenced with Sigma in 2004 as Group Treasurer, having previously held various Finance and Treasury roles in a number of large corporates both locally and overseas, most recently in Australia with WMC Resources. Responsible for the creation of our Embrace Pharmacy Finance program, his current role incorporates ongoing management of this program, Group Treasurer duties, and is Sigma’s primary contact for Investor Relations.

Robert Ellis, Business Development.
Robert rejoined Sigma in April 2007 having previously worked with Sigma from 1990 to 1997. Robert has a wealth of experience gained over 25 years in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries in various roles spanning technical operations, R&D and business development. Robert is currently responsible for the ongoing expansion of our pharmaceutical product portfolio.

Michael Long, General Manager Export and Contracts
Michael commenced with Sigma in 2006 after 13 years in various sales and marketing, trading and general management roles in the international commodities business. He has lived and worked in various locations including London, Egypt and Singapore. Michael is responsible for managing and growing export and contract manufacturing activities for Sigma.

Kirsten Mander, Company Secretary
Kirsten commenced with Sigma in February 2006. Kirsten has extensive experience as general counsel and company secretary in a number of Australia’s major private and publicly listed companies over the last 15 years. Prior to her appointment, she was General Manager Strategy Government and Regulatory Affairs at TRUenergy. Kirsten is responsible for Sigma's corporate secretariat and coordination of risk management and CSR.

John Michailidis, General Manager Orphan Australia
John has been appointed to the role of General Manager Orphan with Sigma from 22 February 2008 having been with Orphan Australia for 2.5 years as COO and CEO. John has extensive experience in the pharmaceuticals industry including 15 years with Roche where he held positions of President Roche Korea and Global Business Director for one of Roche’s biotech franchises. John is responsible for the overall management of Orphan Australia.

Thomas Siebel, General Manager Herron
Thomas commenced with Sigma July 2007. Thomas spent 17 years in the supermarket industry with Woolworths and Franklins. In 2000, Thomas joined Sakata Rice Snacks Australia and in 2005 became the General Manager Sakata Rice Snacks. As the General Manager Herron, Thomas is responsible for the strategic direction and performance of the Herron business.

Mark Smith, Chief Financial Officer
Mark joined Sigma in January 2008 as Chief Financial Officer for the Group, joining Sigma from an executive director position within ANZ Institutional Banking. Prior to ANZ, Mark was Chief Financial Officer for Bonlac Foods for three years, and held a number of senior executive finance and operations positions within Fonterra over a ten year period, the most recent being Regional General Manager Finance and Operations.

Alan Sutton, General Manager Embrace
Alan commenced with Sigma in February 2008 as General Manager of Sigma's Embrace program. Alan has previously held senior financial roles as a CPA in a range of industries such as engineering, plastics manufacturing and food processing. For the last 8 years Alan held the position of CEO of a division of the Belgravia Group where he gained experience in the areas of franchising, wholesaling and retailing. Alan's role within Sigma will focus on expanding and enhancing Sigma's Embrace program.

Con Tangalakis, General Manager Marketing
Con has been involved in the pharmaceutical industry since completing his degree as a Bachelor in both Science and Business working with Eli Lilly. Con was a founding member of Arrow, and prior to the merger with Sigma held the Director of Marketing role where he was instrumental in contributing to the Company's strategic direction, development and implementation.

Peter Tilley, General Manager Retail Operations
Peter was appointed to his current role in June 2007. Peter has over 20 years experience in retail, with senior management roles in national groups such as Angus & Robertson, Blockbuster Australia/NZ and Guardian Pharmacies. Peter is responsible for the retail operations, store design and construction and retail training of the Amcal Max, Amcal and Guardian branded pharmacies and independent customers.

Jackie Toh, Chief Information Officer and General Manager Logistics
Jackie has been with Sigma for over 10 years and has held a variety of management roles. Jackie is currently responsible for the Group’s Information Technology and Logistics functions. Jackie has played a key role in business acquisitions, integration and system implementations. Jackie is focused on driving IT and Logistics enhancement projects that support Sigma’s sales strategies.

Craig Tomlinson, General Manager Merchandise & Marketing
Craig was appointed to his current role in June 2007. Prior to this Craig had over 25 years experience in merchandising and buying in various retail formats both internationally and in Australia. Craig is responsible for supplier trading terms and agreements, merchandising, trading and promotions for the Banner and independent customers.

Steve Waller, General Manager Sales
Steve was appointed to the role of General Manager Sales with Sigma in January 2008. Steve has extensive experience in the pharmaceutricals industry including 18 years with the Consumer Pharmaceutical and Nutritional Division of Johnson & Johnson. Steve’s responsibilities include the management of Sigma’s OTC, Wholesale, Generic and Medical sales teams as well as the marketing of our OTC products, excluding Herron brands.
